Did it in 5 rounds (10 pu/12 push ups/14 sit ups/16 squats per round)
My pull ups are really weak in my opinion

Hell of a workout for a novice. Think I might have over-done it for breakfast afterwords though. 4 eggs, 4 slices of bacon, 2 16 oz glasses of whole milk, and one nice cup of coffee. I am full to bursting.

One of our CFAMA family, Scooter Lanham, passed from this world onto the next last night (Saturday). Oh Scooter, we sure are gonna miss having you around, but we know you are sharing your CrossFit skills with everyone in heaven. We love you Cynthia, and I can say with confidence that your CFAMA family are all here for you: ANYTHING you need.

We hear lots of reasons why people "can't" do things. From 20 somethings with "arthritis" or phantom "aches" to a "bum knee" from an obscure "injury" that happened years ago but resulted in no real diagnosis or any need of repair but might as well be a handicap permit now. As far as excuses go, Scooter could have had plenty. He could have spent all his time sitting back and watching life go by and no one would have thought twice. He had two artificial hips after all, and had had several other surgeries and injuries to boast of. But Scooter decided to take his life back. Against doctor's orders he climbed back on his horse Booger (a difficult task at the beginning) and started roping again. Then he started training after Cynthia started at the gym. Scooter worked harder than kids a third of his age, full of smiles and jokes and determination. Before Scooter started he had trouble getting out of chairs or getting up off of the floor or pulling on boots. But he decided to do something about that. After a few months of hard work Scooter was box squatting 3x5x115 and deadlifting 3x5x205. I know these numbers aren't world records but taken in context, these are life changing. Chairs weren't a problem anymore. After deciding he wanted to try a burpee one day, getting up off the floor wasn't a problem anymore either. Scooter was knocking out weighted chin ups and closing in on his goal of a 200 pound bench press. And despite his very verbal complaints, I know he actually liked it deep down when he saw the Prowler sitting out for him. Scooter hadn't been able to train for the last two months, as he had an old hernia repaired so that he could continue to train hard, and was excited to start back soon. Scooter, you will be missed, and you are loved along with your wife Cynthia. Here's to a life without excuses, and to the always positive example and influence Scooter was to all of us.
